The fine city of Fresno, California has a lot of things to do and places to see for anyone finding themselves in Fresno for whatever reason. Whether you've lived here your whole life or are just in town for a big printing Toronto company sales meeting, you will be able to find something fun to do. Be it taking in a concert, doing some shopping, watching a live sporting event or eating at a fine dining establishment. There is never a lack of things to do while in Fresno.

One of the more popular destinations for residents or tourists is the Fresno Art Museum. If you're in town for a rotary airlock valves convention and need something to do after listening to lectures all day, then the Fresno Art Museum is the place to be. Located at 2233 North First Street, the Fresno Art Museum is open every Thursday - Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free so you have no reason not to go. Otherwise admission for non members over the age of 5 is $5.00. That's a bargain. Also, admission is free for people of all ages on Sundays.

Every third Thursday, the Fresno Art Museum stays open until 8:00 p.m., as they host Art Hop. This is a showcase that features local talent and is organized by the Fresno Arts Council. You never know what you'll find at Art Hop. You might see a painting done entirely in handprints or a sculpture made out of cable glands. Art Hop is just one of the many events held at the Fresno Art Museum. Some other events held throughout the year include: Family Day, film screenings, Men Who Cook and various exhibitions with special themes.

The Fresno Art Museum is the only museum of modern art located between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Fresno Art Museum houses a very large collection of contemporary and modern artwork. Artwork from not only national and international artists but from local artists as well. There is a significant amount of artwork and collections from pre-Columbian times to that of present day. Visiting the Fresno Art Museum is not only an entertaining adventure but also an educational experience. When you return home, you will be able to dazzle your co-workers at the lead castings plant with your new found knowledge of French post-impressionist graphics.

If you find yourself in town or plan on visiting Fresno in the near future and want to know what's going on, make sure to check out their website. They update their events calendar frequently. You can also join their Facebook page or follow their Twitter feeds to be updated instantly. We hope you enjoy your stay in Fresno and have a great time at the Fresno Art Museum. Taking in vibrant artwork is surely more fun than talking about tile strapping all day.
